I've been a bit slow on the sonnet draw, but finally it is ready to be posted. It's not the best poem Kari has ever written, but than again I'm not sure what that truthfully would be(and yes this sonnet does owe a small debt to Rio).

I ask a favor, Mighty Muse;
the flavor, the formation
of this world of lecherous use
has gone stale. Copulation
is the sole achievement;
hordes of fleshy model, teeming
with prosaity, obscure the firmament.
But I! I have a desiring
for celestial creation, for the sight
and speech and sense(however lunatic)
to mold and grant a perfect thing flight.
So your bounty, great and hermaphroditic
I beseech, and require to succeed: please
fill me with your little mind-babies.

I am not officially a member of the Studies in Shakespeare class, but Mr. Sexson has generously allowed me to be present, for the sake of the independent study we are conducting together. For this I am glad, because if a class this early in the semester was as stimulating as the one today, then we are all in for a thrilling ride.

I was not aware of the eerie connection between St. Sebastian and Yukio Mishima, but it is there obviously; I also was not aware of that great short piece by Jorge Luis Borges, "Everything and Nothing" which says what really matters about Shakespeare's identity in as brief a span of time as possible(I suspect it may render all those other huge volumes composed about who Shakespeare was or wasn't sound and fury signifying nothing).

And I now know what I wish to focus my study on: Divine Love. I am now off to read Love's Labours Lost.
